With a background in project management, Henry Westerhuis owned his own construction firm in Grand Rapids before joining forces with Katie to create RENDR Custom Homes. He has a passion for building classic, elegant designs and helping bring your vision to life.

KATIE LYONS-CHURCH

Owner + Design Consultant

Katie is an interior designer with a passion for people. She’s worked in a variety of roles—from commercial real estate to construction management to engineering—Katie partnered with Henry to assist with the coordination of building and designing. They have been working together since creating RENDR in 2019.

CAIT ALEXEJUN

Project Coordinator

With 20+ years of customer service and management experience, Cait joined RENDR + MODRN as Project Coordinator in 2022. She brings a fresh outside perspective on systems and operations and is eagerly learning about all facets of interior design and construction. Cait is your first point of contact when inquiring about design work and she will be your resource for all things relating to timelines and quotes. You'll see Cait in the modrn studio and on job sites taking photos + video for social media.

My 2 year old son has a crazy fascination with job sites and construction equipment and seeing his pure joy at something I happen to be involved in brings me so
much happiness.

I don’t think it is any secret that the career that I have chosen is incredibly challenging. I find that the best way for me to unplug is lathering a ½ inch worth of sunscreen and being outside. I love the physical and mental reset of being outside and close to water.

Outside of work, as a California native I enjoy hiking with my partner + two pups to make the most of our short warm seasons in west Michigan, or curling up with
good book.
